Toastmasters is a wonderful supportive environment for learning and practice of communication and leadership. From nervous novice through to confident professional, there are challenges perfect for your needs. Perfect to prepare you for the challenges you face in your life. Toastmasters also gives you a great place to build lifelong friendships both locally and all over the world.

The theme in the South East this year is "One step more". When we have a high mountain to climb or a long distance to travel, the best way to make progress is to take one step more. You can take on any challenge, overcome any fear, achieve any goal, fulfil any dream when you keep taking one step more. So that is what we are doing in the South East this year. I challenge you to take one step more for you. However big or small. You choose. Make it count. With each new step, I promise you will realise, more and more, just how amazing you are.

Hilary Briggs Presents Division H Evaluation Special
A new club on the south coast is making the most of the skills of seven members to grow into joining the Toastmasters International organisation. Numerologists consider seven to be the sum of the spiritual three and the material four, signifying creation.
Worthing Speakers are using this power to create a club with a magnificent future.

Toastmasters helped me become a better Judge
Yvonne Forbes, Area Governor for Area 37, was sworn in as a Magistrate on 11th December at Maidstone Crown Courts. Yvonne said “ I have always had an interest in the Courts and in Justice so becoming a J.P. was something I really wanted to do”. Yvonne will start her training in January and will start sitting on the bench in February 2009.

Advanced Speakers Club Charters
Marlow Orators, an Advanced Speakers Club, held a Gala Dinner and Tall Tales Speaking Competition at Bisham Abbey on 4th of December.
The superb historic surroundings added to the importance of the occasion, the Club's Charter Dinner to celebrate the founding of MARLOW ORATORS.

Victory at Battle
Battle Speakers’ Club launched successfully Chartered March 2009
Battle Speakers’ Club launched successfully on 6th November with 29 people attending the inaugural meeting. 12 people joined the club on the night, including the founding committee.

Well a nation is a large group of people with lots in common under one government. Well the “government” is Toastmasters International and what we all had in common was our love of public speaking and our enjoyment of a great social weekend.

Alan wins Division Humorous Speech Contest
Alan Donegan will travel to Kilkenny in Ireland for the finals from November 7-9.

He joined Guildford Speaker’s Club only about six months ago after a best man’s speech went particularly well.
